From site survey to first charge

Installation Policy

A Chargisthan charger is only as good as the install behind it. This policy explains exactly how we survey, install, and hand over your charger — what's included, what's not, and what we need from you for a safe, smooth commissioning.

At Chargisthan, installation isn't an afterthought — it's how we make sure your charger runs safely and reliably for years. This Installation Policy sets out how our certified team surveys, installs, activates, and hands over Chargisthan AC and DC chargers for homes, businesses, fleets, and public sites, and what each side is responsible for along the way. It works alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy & Security Policy.

1 How this policy works

This policy applies to installations carried out by Chargisthan or an authorised Chargisthan installation partner. The exact scope, materials, and cost of each installation are confirmed in the site-specific Bill of Quantities (BoQ) we prepare for you — so this policy explains the standard process, and your BoQ records what applies to your particular site.

Where a signed supply, project, or service agreement covers your installation, that agreement takes precedence for anything it specifically addresses.

2 Free site assessment

Every installation begins with a site assessment by a trained technician — at no charge. We look at where the charger will go and whether your site can support it safely:

  • Proposed mounting location, cable route, and distance to your electrical supply.
  • Available load, incoming connection, earthing, and the protection your charger needs.
  • Access, ventilation, and any civil or structural work the location may require.

The assessment may be done on-site or, for simple cases, remotely using photos and details you share. Its findings feed directly into your Bill of Quantities.

3 Bill of Quantities & approval

After the assessment we prepare a Bill of Quantities — a clear, itemised list of the materials, labour, and any additional work your installation needs, with costs. Installation is scheduled only once you approve the BoQ in writing.

💡

Where a specific charger model is advertised with free standard installation, that applies only to the standard scope defined in your BoQ. Extra materials or work beyond it are quoted separately and require your approval.

4 Professional installation

Installations are performed by certified technicians in line with applicable Indian electrical regulations, manufacturer specifications, and good industry practice. Our priority is a safe, compliant, and neat install.

⚠️

If, on the day, our technician judges that an installation cannot be completed safely — for example due to inadequate wiring, unsafe surfaces, or missing approvals — we may pause or decline the work until the issue is resolved. This protects you, your property, and our team.

5 Mounting & placement

The technician fixes your charger to a suitable wall, pole, or stand chosen for safety, accessibility, and everyday convenience. Final placement is agreed with you on-site, within what's technically safe and practical.

You're responsible for ensuring the mounting surface is structurally sound. Chargisthan is not responsible for pre-existing defects in walls, surfaces, or structures, or for issues that arise from them after installation.

6 Electrical integration

We connect the charger to your electrical supply with the appropriate cabling, protection, and earthing for the model installed. The standard package covers the components listed in your BoQ up to the agreed cable length and scope.

  • Additional cable runs, conduits, trenching, or upgraded wiring beyond the standard scope are chargeable and listed in the BoQ.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your incoming supply, meter, and load sanction are adequate for the charger's rating.
  • For DC and higher-power installs, dedicated infrastructure and utility approvals may be required before commissioning.

7 Platform activation

Once mounted and wired, we configure and activate your charger on the Chargisthan management platform (CPMS) and link it to your account. This is what enables remote monitoring, diagnostics, firmware updates, and — for hosts and operators — session and tariff management.

Activation needs working internet or mobile connectivity at the site; where signal is weak, we'll advise on options during the assessment.

8 App setup & training

Before we leave, we make sure you can actually use what we've installed. On request, our technician will help you install the Chargisthan app, connect it to your charger, and run a test charge together.

9 What's included & what's excluded

Your BoQ is the final word for your site, but as a general guide:

Typically included

  • Site assessment and BoQ preparation.
  • Mounting and secure fixing of the charger.
  • Standard cabling and connection within the agreed scope.
  • Platform onboarding, activation, and a test charge.
  • Basic app setup and handover guidance.

Not included by default

  • Extra cabling, conduits, trenching, or civil work.
  • Electrical supply, meter, or load upgrades.
  • Government, society, or utility permissions and fees.
  • Relocation or re-installation after the initial fit.
  • Repairs to pre-existing wiring or structures.

10 Scheduling & rescheduling

Once your BoQ is approved, we'll agree an installation slot with you. To reschedule or cancel a confirmed visit, please give us at least 24 hours' notice through our support channels; visits missed or cancelled at short notice may attract a re-visit charge to cover the technician's time.

We'll always try to keep to the agreed date, but we're not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control — such as site unavailability, pending approvals, weather, or supply disruptions.

11 Your responsibilities

A smooth install depends on the site being ready. Before the visit, please:

  • Provide safe, clear access to the installation area at the agreed time.
  • Ensure an authorised adult is present throughout the installation.
  • Obtain any permissions needed — landlord, housing society, or local authority.
  • Tell us in advance about any site constraints, restrictions, or hazards.
🕒

If the site isn't ready or access isn't available, the technician may not be able to complete the work — and a re-visit charge may apply. We're not responsible for delays caused by site non-readiness.

12 Safety & warranty

Correct installation is essential for your charger's warranty to remain valid. Your Chargisthan warranty can be affected or voided by:

  • Installation or later modification by anyone other than Chargisthan or an authorised partner.
  • Use of unsafe, non-compliant, or inadequate electrical infrastructure.
  • Tampering with, relocating, or altering the unit without our approval.
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, or power surges outside the equipment's ratings.

Full warranty terms are set out in your product documentation and our Terms & Conditions.

13 Limitation of liability

We take due care in every installation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chargisthan is not liable for loss or damage arising from misuse, negligence, unauthorised modification, third-party interference, or failures of electrical infrastructure that is not part of our installation scope. Our overall liability is as described in our Terms & Conditions. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14 Acceptance of this policy

By approving your Bill of Quantities, scheduling an installation, or allowing installation work to begin at your site, you accept this Installation Policy together with our Terms & Conditions. If anything here is unclear, please ask us before work starts.
