Chargisthan builds EV chargers, a charging app, and a management platform. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the control you keep over it.
At Chargisthan (operated by the Chargisthan team, Jodhpur, Rajasthan), we treat your personal data as something you've lent us — not something we own. This Privacy & Security Policy covers our website, our EV charging hardware, the Chargisthan mobile app, and our charger-management platform (CPMS). By using any of these, you agree to the practices described here.
This policy applies to everyone who interacts with Chargisthan — website visitors, enquiry and quote requesters, partners and distributors, charger owners and hosts, and drivers who charge at a Chargisthan-managed station. It explains our role both as a data fiduciary (for our own customers and website users) and as a data processor (when we operate charging infrastructure on behalf of a business or site owner).
Where we run a platform for a partner, that partner may have their own privacy terms that apply alongside ours.
We collect only what we need to answer you, deliver a product, or run a charging service. That falls into a few buckets:
Connected chargers report operational information so the network stays healthy and billing stays accurate. This typically includes the charger's model and serial/identifier, firmware version, connector status, fault and diagnostic codes, energy metering, and approximate station location.
This is largely equipment telemetry, not personal profiling. Where a session can be linked to an identifiable driver, we treat that combined record as personal data under this policy.
We use your information to:
We do not sell your personal data.
We process data on one or more of these grounds: to perform a contract with you, to meet a legal obligation, for a legitimate interest such as keeping our network secure, and — where required — with your consent. When we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep the site secure, and understand — in aggregate — how pages are used so we can improve them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are needed for core features to work.
Any analytics we use is configured to minimise personal data and is never used to build advertising profiles of you.
Security is engineered into our products, not bolted on. We apply layered administrative, technical, and physical safeguards:
Traffic between chargers, apps, and our servers is encrypted with modern TLS.
Least-privilege access, strong authentication, and audit logging for internal systems.
Charger firmware is updated over the air with integrity checks to block tampering.
Hardened, monitored servers with backups and separation between environments.
No system is ever 100% impenetrable. If a breach ever affects your data, we will act promptly and notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for — plus any period we're required to retain it for warranty, tax, accounting, or legal reasons. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or irreversibly anonymise it. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be kept longer to improve our products.
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to:
To exercise any right — including deletion of your app account — email privacy@chargisthan.com, contact our support team at care@chargisthan.com or +91 84074 93232, or use the in-app option in your profile. We'll verify your identity and respond within the timelines the law requires.
Our products and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has shared data with us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Our website, app, or communications may link to third-party sites and tools — for example payment gateways or mapping services. Those parties operate under their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to read their terms before sharing data with them.
We primarily store and process data on infrastructure serving India. Where a trusted provider processes data outside India, we ensure it is protected by contractual and technical safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable law.
As our products, technology, and the law evolve, we may update this policy. When we make a material change, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where practicable, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
