Payment Terms & Conditions

Everything about how money moves at Chargisthan — the methods we accept, how we price and invoice, how charging sessions and wallets are billed, when we settle with hosts, and how refunds and disputes are handled. No fine-print surprises.

Home / Payment Terms & Conditions

These Payment Terms & Conditions govern every payment you make to Chargisthan — whether you're buying an EV charger, subscribing to our Charger Management System (CPMS), topping up your wallet in the Chargisthan app, or charging at a Chargisthan-managed station. They sit alongside our Privacy & Security Policy and any quotation, order confirmation, or service agreement we sign with you. By placing an order or completing a payment, you accept the terms below.

1 Scope & who this covers

These terms apply to four kinds of payment across the Chargisthan ecosystem:

  • Hardware buyers — homeowners, businesses, and partners purchasing AC or DC chargers.
  • Software customers — organisations subscribing to our CPMS platform and software modules.
  • Drivers — app users who top up a wallet and pay for charging sessions.
  • Hosts & CPOs — station owners who earn revenue from sessions we help settle.

Where a signed quotation, purchase order, or service agreement contains specific commercial terms, those signed terms take precedence over this page for that transaction.

2 Accepted payment methods

We accept payments through regulated, PCI-DSS-compliant Indian payment gateways and banking channels:

🏦

UPI

Instant UPI payments and UPI AutoPay mandates for recurring charges.

💳

Cards

Domestic credit, debit, and prepaid cards supported by our gateway.

🏛️

Net Banking & Bank Transfer

Net banking, plus NEFT / RTGS / IMPS for larger hardware orders.

👛

Chargisthan Wallet

A prepaid balance in the app for quick, tap-to-charge session payments.

ℹ️

Availability of a specific method can vary by product, order value, your bank, and your location. Chargisthan does not store your full card, UPI PIN, or bank credentials — see Payment data security.

3 Pricing, taxes & GST

All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (₹). Unless a quotation states otherwise:

  • Product and service prices are exclusive of GST, which is added at the rate applicable on the invoice date.
  • Installation, civil work, cabling, and load-enhancement charges are billed separately unless bundled in your quote.
  • Charging tariffs shown in the app are inclusive of applicable taxes and any host-set service fee.
  • Prices, tariffs, and fees may change over time; the price that applies is the one confirmed on your order, invoice, or at the moment a session starts.

A valid GSTIN provided at the time of order lets us raise a GST-compliant tax invoice for input-credit purposes.

4 Quotes & hardware orders

Buying a charger typically follows four steps:

STEP 1

Quotation

We share a written quote valid for the period stated on it (usually 15–30 days).

STEP 2

Order & advance

You confirm by accepting the quote and paying the advance / booking amount.

STEP 3

Build & dispatch

We manufacture, test, and dispatch; the balance falls due as per your terms.

STEP 4

Install & invoice

We install / commission and issue the final GST tax invoice.

An order is confirmed only when we acknowledge it in writing and the agreed advance is received. Quoted prices can be revised before confirmation if input costs, taxes, or specifications change.

5 Advance, milestones & delivery

Hardware and project orders are commonly billed against milestones. Typical (but negotiable) terms are:

MilestoneTypical shareTrigger
Booking advance30–50%On order confirmation
Pre-dispatch40–60%Before goods leave our facility
BalanceRemainderOn delivery / commissioning

Exact percentages are set in your quotation or purchase order. Title to the goods passes to you only after full payment is received; risk passes on delivery. Dispatch and installation timelines assume payments are received on schedule.

6 Charging-session billing

When you charge at a Chargisthan-managed station through the app:

  • You may be asked to pre-authorise or block an estimated amount before the session begins.
  • The final charge is calculated from actual energy delivered (kWh) and / or time, plus any host service fee, at the tariff shown when the session started.
  • Payment is taken from your wallet balance or your selected payment method when the session ends.
  • If a pre-authorised amount exceeds the final cost, the difference is released or refunded to source per your bank's timelines.

Parking, idle-connector, or overstay fees set by a host may apply after your vehicle reaches full charge. These are shown at the station and in the app before you confirm.

7 Chargisthan Wallet

The Chargisthan Wallet is an optional prepaid balance inside the app, used only to pay for Chargisthan charging services — it is a closed-loop convenience, not a general-purpose payment instrument.

  • Top-ups are added instantly once the payment gateway confirms success.
  • The balance cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another user, or used outside the Chargisthan network, and earns no interest.
  • Your own topped-up balance does not expire while your account stays active; promotional credit follows the rules in Promotional credits.
  • On account closure, any unused non-promotional balance is refundable to the original source on request, subject to identity verification and applicable regulations.

8 Platform & subscription fees

Access to the CPMS platform and certain software modules may be sold as a subscription or platform fee:

  • Fees are billed monthly or annually in advance, as chosen at sign-up, and may be collected via UPI AutoPay, card mandate, or invoice.
  • Recurring payments renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel future renewals from your account or by writing to us.
  • A platform or transaction fee may be deducted from session revenue before we settle a host — the applicable rate is set in your service agreement.
  • Unless your agreement says otherwise, subscription fees already paid for a running period are non-refundable, but you keep access until that period ends.

9 Host & partner settlements

If you host a Chargisthan-managed charger and earn from public sessions, we collect payments from drivers on your behalf and settle your share to your registered bank account.

  • Settlements are made on the cycle stated in your agreement (for example, weekly or on a T+N basis) after deducting our platform / transaction fee and applicable taxes.
  • You are responsible for the electricity supply and its bills at your site unless expressly agreed otherwise.
  • Accurate, up-to-date bank and KYC details are required for settlement; we are not liable for delays caused by incorrect details you provide.
  • Collecting session payments directly from drivers outside the platform is not permitted and voids the related settlement.

10 Invoicing & receipts

We issue a GST-compliant tax invoice for hardware and software purchases, and a digital receipt for each wallet top-up and charging session. Invoices and receipts are sent to your registered email and are available in the app or your account. Please check every invoice on receipt and tell us within 7 days if anything looks wrong so we can correct it.

11 Failed & duplicate payments

If money is debited but the order, top-up, or session does not complete — or if you are charged twice for the same thing — the amount is normally reversed automatically by the payment gateway within a few working days.

🔄

If a reversal doesn't reach you within 5–7 working days, email care@chargisthan.com with your transaction reference and we'll trace and resolve it with the gateway and bank.

12 Refunds & cancellations

How a refund works depends on what you paid for:

  • Hardware orders — before dispatch, you may cancel and receive a refund of amounts paid less any non-recoverable costs already incurred (custom configuration, procured components, or logistics). After dispatch, custom-built and installed equipment is generally non-returnable except under our warranty.
  • Charging sessions — if a session fails to deliver energy due to a fault on our side, the charge for that session is reversed to your wallet or source.
  • Wallet balance — unused, non-promotional balance is refundable to source on account closure or on request.
  • Subscriptions — fees for a period already active are non-refundable unless your agreement states otherwise.

Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method. Bank / gateway processing times then apply.

13 Promotional credits

From time to time we may add promotional credit, cashback, or referral rewards to your wallet. Unless a specific offer says otherwise:

  • Promotional credit is not cash — it cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or refunded, and is used only for Chargisthan charging services.
  • Promotional credit carries an expiry and is consumed before your own topped-up balance where an offer specifies this.
  • We may withdraw or adjust promotional credit obtained through error, abuse, or fraud.

14 Late payment & suspension

For invoiced (credit) accounts, payment is due by the date on the invoice. Overdue amounts may attract interest at the rate stated in your agreement, and we may pause dispatch, installation, support, or platform access until dues are cleared. We'll always give reasonable notice before suspending a service for non-payment.

15 Chargebacks & fraud

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — most issues are resolved faster directly than through a bank chargeback. Raising a chargeback for a service you genuinely used, or any fraudulent or unauthorised payment activity, may lead us to suspend the account and recover the amount, and we cooperate with banks and authorities in investigating misuse.

16 Payment data security

Your payment details are handled by regulated gateway partners, not stored in the clear by us:

🔐

Encrypted checkout

Payments are captured over encrypted, PCI-DSS-compliant gateway pages.

🚫

No stored credentials

We never store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank password.

🔁

Tokenised mandates

Recurring payments use bank-approved tokens and AutoPay mandates you control.

🛡️

Monitored & auditable

Transactions are logged and monitored for fraud and unauthorised access.

How we handle the personal data around a payment is explained in our Privacy & Security Policy.

17 Disputes & grievances

Raise any payment or billing concern within 60 days of the transaction so we can investigate with full records. We aim to acknowledge quickly and resolve fairly, in line with our policies and applicable RBI guidance. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jodhpur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any consumer protection right available to you.

18 Changes to these terms

As our products, payment partners, and regulations evolve, we may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where practicable, notified to you in advance. Continuing to buy, subscribe, or charge after an update means you accept the revised terms; the terms in force when your transaction takes place are the ones that apply to it.
